In this video, M. R. Hari demonstrates how it is possible to grow a forest within a ring of forests. A three-cent clearing in the middle of one-, two- and three-year-old Miyawaki forests in the Puliyarakonam plot became a site of an experiment. The good yield of bananas, elephant yams, brinjals, guava, ladys finger, chilly and so on from a tiny forest planted there is evidence of the fact that the surrounding forests will not prove to be an obstacle if you wish to create a micro- vegetable forest. Besides, the micro-climate that forms in such a forested area will bring down atmospheric heat, permit rain water to seep into the ground, and attract insects that will help in pollination.
