In this video, M. R. Hari shows us how small water bodies fish tanks, waste water drains, etc. in our compound can be kept clean using floating islands. A PVC framework fixed to a rubber sheet, with holes punched in it, will form a floating island. Plants like heliconia, canna lily, vetiver or Indian pennywort fixed in orchid pots can be inserted through these holes and the framework left to float on water. The submerged roots will absorb all the waste and keep the water clean. This is a good alternative to the use of poisonous cleansing agents.
