In this video, M. R. Hari clears the doubt raised by many people as to whether a Miyawaki forest canbe put up in a plot which already has trees. He suggests pruning the trees so that sunlight falls on theground, preparing a raised mud platform in the clearing, by mixing cow dung and coir pith with thesoil, and planting a variety of saplings. While fresh shoots that appear on the pruned trees will formthe upper layer of the forest, the new plants will grow up to form the lower layer.
