In this video, M. R. Hari revisits a Miyawaki forest his team had planted on the Bekal beach nearly a year back. The trees closest to the sea shore exhibited signs of damage caused by strong salty winds. The green nets used to shield the forest helped the trees recover and grow back to health. However, the lesson learnt from this experiment is that layers of vetiver and Glory bower – with their power to withstand salty winds and sea surges – will certainly prove to be a protective cover and help the other trees grow strong and healthy.
