In this video M. R. Hari shows how, in keeping with the core Miyawaki principles of living close to Nature and economizing on the expenditure of natural resources, he built a low-cost house at his Puliyarakonam plot. The rooms cover only 450 sq. ft, whereas the veranda spreads across 550 sq. ft, making it a living area where he can be close to the Miyawaki forests planted close by. All the features – like the water trough running all around the house where he grows fish, the cow shed, the goat pen, the kennel, the small kitchen, the waste water management system, etc. – have been so managed as to optimize the use of all available resources.
