In this video, M. R. Hari introduces Mr Abraham Chacko, an agriculturist in Udumbanchola who, learning from the latest discoveries in farming, works towards ensuring the health of the soil of his land so that he can raise high-quality, pesticide-free crops. Healthy soil requires a variety of microbes, and in order to retain them, he permits the presence of weeds as well as humus, grows indigenous cows, and maintains plant biodiversity. Additionally, he completely avoids fertilizers and pesticides, preferring to use Jeevamritham. All these have resulted in lesser need for labour, healthier environment and better harvests. Such a scientific approach to agriculture, Mr Chacko feels, is imperative for human health and is sure to help reverse climate change as well.
