In this video, M. R. Hari mentions the various benefits of cultivating a Miyawaki forest in ones ownplot. Following the principles of Dr Akira Miyawaki, Subhash Palekar and Dr Christine Jones, we cangrow a fruit- and vegetable forest in our plots without much labour. Minimizing our intervention willensure a chemical fertilizer-free, pesticide-free, organic crop. Such a method is not only economicalbut also beneficial because the quality of the produce will be good. By pruning branches and leavingthem to rot in the ground will allow liquid carbon to seep into the ground, help make the soil morefertile and also assist in carbon sequestration. M. R. Hari shows the various fruits and vegetablesharvested from his own Miyawaki forest in order to inspire more people to follow this healthyalternative.
